Mac Os Keyboard Mapping

The downside of third-party keyboard drivers is that as Apple updates the Mac OS, there may come a time when a keyboard driver is no longer supported. Best html code editor for mac. If that happens, you can revert to using the Mac's basic ability to remap modifier keys, but you'll likely lose any special capabilities you enjoyed with your keyboard. Go to the system preferences, open keyboard preferences, and change which actions are set for the option and command keys to remap your modifier keys. In order to make things easier, we created a video to show you step-by-step how to set these keys up in the Apple layout. Yeah, that works. However, my point was that I don't want to (for example) type Right-OptionQ for '@', but rather AltL, as I'm used to from using the Apple keyboard in Mac OS X. I assume that requires a special driver/keymap for the Apple keyboard under Win/VMware, but haven't been able to find anything in that direction so far. Under PC to Mac keyboard mapping, select one of the following options: Select Alt = Alt, Windows = Command to assign the PC Alt key to equal the Mac Alt key and the Windows logo key to equal the Mac Command ('Apple') key.

Mac Os Keyboard Mapping
I am working on an Intel Mac running Windows XP Professional only (OS X is not installed).
There is a standard US, 101-Key, style USB keyboard attached.
The insert key does not work - ie: toggle between insert mode and overwrite mode in applications such as Microsoft Word, etc.
Does anybody know of a way to either:
A.) Get the insert key to work as it should on a Mac running Windows?
-or-
B.) Suggest a keyboard combination to toggle insert/overwrite mode in the majority of Windows applications?
Thanks,
SoulGrind
